Learning Conductor, the Distributed Learning Workshop’s flagship product, is an Internet-based instructional system that offers an assessment-guided approach to learning mathematics. Instead of “teaching to the test,” Learning Conductor’s groundbreaking technologies transform items from standardized and other exams into powerful tools for learning and teaching. The system is designed to build students’ confidence in their own abilities as mathematics learners, by fostering a deep and lasting understanding of the curriculum. It is through understanding and confidence that students’ performance improves—both in the classroom, and on standardized exams.
Using Learning Conductor, students can:
- Take unlimited Practice Sessions to improve particular areas of weakness, using a wide variety of standards-aligned problems.
- Get immediate feedback on exercises with detailed, worked-example solutions.
- Take Readiness Tests to find out strengths and weaknesses and identify subtopics that need further study.
- Take a full-length Rehearsal Test to see how they would do on a real standardized exam.
- See a Summary Report and Detailed Report showing progress toward mastering subtopics.
Learning Conductor is accessible anytime, anywhere, via a web browser (i.e., Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari). It runs on both Windows and Mac OS X, using the latest Flash plug-in.
